With so many people working from home, more and more are attempting to exercise from home as well to stay fit. A big challenge when taking on an at-home workout program is knowing what to do (and not do) to get the best results.  There is less (or no) equipment, limited time, and even less motivation. So, to help you out, we have put together a two-step plan for you to get moving again from home.

    Step 1: Improve your posture
Step 2: Boost your energy and stamina

What Exercises are Best for At-Home Training

When it comes to training at home, you need to first make sure that you are undoing all the tightening and stiffness that comes from sitting behind a computer all day. That is why Step 1 of our approach is to do exercises that help with posture. These are specific stretches and core exercises that will make sure you are fighting the slump and will actually give you more energy and focus throughout the day while fighting aches and pains.

How to Get and Stay Fit While At Home

Once you build in a healthy habit of stretching and core work, then you can dial things up and start working to boost energy, stamina, and strength (all while burning fat!). We all move less and eat more when we work from home, so it’s important to do a workout that will boost your metabolism and your energy levels.

    Let’s Review

When it comes to exercising at home, it can be hard to know what to do. That is why we recommend that you start first with posture, then add in more intense exercise. Too often people jump right into the “real” workout, and just end up hurting themselves. Your body needs to be able to move well before it moves often. So incorporating both of the videos above will lead to the best results. Now, I do know that some of you will find yourself saying things like:

    • “I don’t have time to do this!”
    • “Should I really be doing that exercise?”
    • “How do I know if I’m doing these correctly?”
    • “Sounds good, but I’m not going to stick with it even if I try.”

If that’s the case, then it’s time to think about seeking the support of a coach. We all have things that we are not experts in and that we just are not motivated to do…and that is why we get help! Most people would not even think about doing their own taxes, and yet they struggle for years trying to do their own fitness (unsuccessfully). So, if you are ready to make a change in your life, I would like to invite you to join our 28-Day Kickstart Program and get the exercises you need, with the guidance and accountability that comes with having a coach.
